Advisory and solution architecture

Advisory and solution architecture is a service for companies that need a second opinion before a software decision becomes a project. It covers vendor proposals, architecture choices, build versus buy decisions and implementation risk, delivered as advice on its own terms.

Advisory Focus

What this is for

Some engagements start before there is a project. A board wants a second opinion on a vendor’s proposal, an internal team wants a sense check on an architecture decision, or a company needs to know whether to build, buy or leave something alone.

We give that opinion directly, with the same people who would deliver the work if it goes ahead. It is priced as advisory, not as the first phase of a project we are trying to win.

Vendor proposal review

Scope, architecture, assumptions, ownership and integration load checked before the contract is signed.

Build versus buy

A direct recommendation on whether to build, buy, adapt what already exists or leave the problem alone.

Architecture sense check

A review of the planned system design, handoffs, data ownership and avoidable delivery risks.

Board or leadership input

A written opinion that explains the trade-offs clearly enough for a non-technical decision meeting.

Advisory Deliverables

What you receive

When a second opinion is worth it

A proposal can look complete and still leave out the part that will decide the project: who owns the source, how the old systems hand data across, what happens at month end, or which team carries support after go live.

This work is useful when the decision is expensive enough that a wrong assumption would cost more than the review. It is also useful when the people approving the work need a clear explanation of the risk, not a longer technical document.

The output is written for the decision being made: board approval, vendor selection, architecture direction or a build versus buy call.

Questions

Advisory and solution architecture is a service for companies that need a second opinion on a software decision before there is a project. It can cover vendor proposals, architecture choices, build versus buy decisions & implementation risk.

No. It is priced as advisory, not as the first phase of a project we are trying to win. If a build follows later, that is a separate decision.

The opinion comes from the same senior people who would be responsible for the work if it went ahead, so the recommendation is grounded in delivery rather than sales material.

You receive a written assessment, a reasoned recommendation, a named point of contact for follow up questions and no obligation to engage us for anything that follows.

Yes. A vendor proposal can be reviewed for scope, architecture, assumptions, risk, ownership, integration load and what the proposal leaves unsaid.
